Philip Retji Dakum is his full name. Born on 17th September in Jos, Nigeria. Retji formally known as Phildizzle was always surrounded by music. Retji passed through experiences that shaped him into what he is today, it was this same place he grew up that brought you acts like M.I, Jesse Jagz, Iceprince, Kahli Abdu, Tuface, P-square and many others. He went to secondary school in Bethany Christian Academy (2004-2009) where he immediately joined a group called "Prodigies".

It was there he was given the name "Phildizzle" by his friends, but now known as "Retji". He did two albums with them and left to study in the United States of America. He did different songs alongside act like Don, T-dizzle, Lordswag, Vino and Ges, Sense and was also produced by jesse jagz for some songs. When he went to America he did his senior year Amelia High School, Cincinnati Ohio, it was there he met Daze, Fav, Josh Drennan and a few other artists. Retji listens to any kind of music but when it comes to being inspired he listens to more of J.Cole, Wale, Jay Z, T.I, Ludacris and Chammillionaire. Expect a lot from Retji.
