John Godfrey fondly called by the mononym “AKACHUKWU", is a Nigerian Gospel/Inspirational recording/performing artist.
John recently released his much anticipated video “Mma Mma” featuring the Agidigba crooner and award winning Artist Tim Godfrey who happens to be his brother with the help of his producer "Da-Genius".
The upbeat praise song, which he delivers with a progressive and dynamic edge, expresses his gratitude to God for His grace and mercies.
John, an inspiration artist, describes his music as a fusion of Neo-soul and Hip-Hop sound that is bound to elevate the spirit, heal the soul and bring glory to God.
As a Praise and Worship leader, Music director in Kicc Church fst branch, Nigeria, he has been asked over and over again about when he would be sharing his talents with the world, and in John’s own words he states that “now is the time to fulfill destiny. There should be a sense of urgency with regards to everything that God has called one to do, so i no longer wait for d univers signs. I just live a purpose-driven life”. John’s journey did not begin now; it’s been a developing talent since 1999 when he discovers d need 2 reachout 2 d world through gospel music.
However, John’s awareness about his God-given abilities continue to grow, he finds it necessary to consistently rehearse and hone his vocal skills, knowing that in order for the world to hear him loud and clear he has to be as polished and eloquent as possible. He is determined to keep improving, rehearsing and enlightening himself in other aspects of music. “We serve an excellent God, therefore our presentation of his gospel must be excellent”, he says.
Gospel music has gained another great talent, because the journey has just started for this Nigerian-born artist. Watch him closely as he brings a message of love, hope and restoration to the world.
